I was so honored and privileged to be invited to the 34th Annual Gala dinner celebrating Chinese Americans in Sports. This year’s event was held at Empress Harbor Seafood, Monterey Park, Ca and organized annually by the Chinese American Historical Society of Southern California. Being a Chinese American athlete myself, it felt special to be surrounded by people who played a significant role and inspiration to the growth of Chinese Americans in sports. My good friend Carol Jue who is the Head Coach of the women’s basketball team for Chapman University was one of the many honorees.
