Kenny Phan Photography | Los Angeles & Orange County Photographer bio picture

Hi there!

I am Kenny Phan, a Los Angeles & Orange County photographer specializing in weddings, portraits & events and willing to travel if necessary. Welcome to my website where I will provide to you a glimpse of my love and passion through my images. I am happily married to my gorgeous wife Vanessa of Vanessa Lam Photography and a proud father to our beautiful daughter, Kareena and newborn son, Kyle. Besides my passion for photography, I am also a die hard basketball junkie.

Vanessa and I are a husband and wife photographer. Even though we may work together at times, we do have our own style. I love to capture the candid moments, letting the photos tell the story. Simple. Memorable. Forever. That's how your photos should turn out.

I hope to have the opportunity to get to know you and be able to capture all the special moments in your life. And at the end of the day, my goal isn't only to provide to you with all the great images, but also to have gained your respect and friendship.

Kenny Phan

Griffith Park - Lana & Chans’s Engagement

I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason. There was no doubt when I met with Lana and Chans that they were destined to be together. I am very good friends with Lana’s older brother (20+ years) so I remember the good old days when she was just a little girl. All grown up now, Lana met an amazing man in Chans and they together make one truly loving, caring and devoted couple. True love happens.

An another example: the day’s forecast called for rain, which it did for a while. Fear that we would waste our time driving up to Griffith Park, I suggested we reschedule the engagement session. However, Lana and Chans decided to take the risk and go ahead with the engagement session. As luck would unfold, and its a good thing they didn’t listen to me because the session turned out to be amazing. The weather turned out great and oh boy, did the golden sunlight that showed up out of nowhere make for some awesome and memorable photos.

Check out the favorites from Lana and Chans’s engagement session at Griffith Park.

February 22, 2010 - 11:10 pm Lana Lam - We are BLOWN AWAY by your work! You really captured the spirit of our love and friendship. It really means so much to us that we will forever have these pictures and memories! We can't say this enough, but THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Looking forward to what our big day will bring! Love, Lana and Chans

Big Bear - Laura & George’s Engagement

This will probably be the only time you will ever hear me say this: “thank god it rained”. I was pretty psyched about driving up to Big Bear to capture Laura and George’s engagement session. Thanks to the rain the mountains were extra gorgeous and were knee high in snow. This was my first time shooting in the snow so I was extra excited. Laura and George are snowboarders so they decided to bring along their boards, which made for excellent props and amazing photos. Great weather (even the sun came out), snow everywhere, great location and a super cool couple only equal to an amazing and fun engagement session.

Check out these super cool photos!

We also captured some awesome photos next to Big Bear Lake, which was basically frozen.laura_george_esession-1018laura_george_esession-2001laura_george_esession-1051laura_george_esession-2004

I wouldn’t be surprised if this kiss melted the snow around us. Can you see the steam in the bottom right? February 23, 2010 - 8:20 am Lea and Sean - I love the originality of the venue. So many awesome shots!

February 8, 2010 - 8:48 pm George & Laura - Thanks Kenny for getting such amazing shots!! We couldn't have asked for a better day in Big Bear. Also wanted to thank Vanessa and Kareena for bearing the traffic and making the 3hr drive up the mountain with us. Love the work buddy, you did good!!!

February 7, 2010 - 1:47 am Brian Fletcher - Nice shots, Kenny! That must have been a lot of fun up there :)

February 5, 2010 - 1:46 pm William - Great session!! Love it!

Big Bear - Kareena’s first snow trip

What was previously only an engagement session in Big Bear also became a mini family trip. It would be Mommy (surprisingly) and Kareena’s first time playing in the snow. Who said you can’t mix business with pleasure. =) It worked out great as Vanessa and Kareena were able to enjoy the awesome snow and weather while I was busy capturing some amazing photos of the lovely couple. Not to mention the rain left us with a beautiful and sunny day with a nice amount of snow to play with. We couldn’t ask for a better situation.

Check out this awesome photo of Big Bear Lake, frozen!

And of course I couldn’t leave without a few sneak peek photos of Laura & George’s engagement session. Hot, and more to come.img_3939img_3984img_4077
